Displaced Homemaker Day at the Minnesota State Capitol
On March 28th, the Life-Work Planning Center staff made a trip to the state capitol to express our gratitude to legislators who were instrumental in helping us garner a direct funding appropriation last year. The trip was also a terrific opportunity to share updates about the program and its services.
We met with legislators from across the Region Nine area to share the good news that Minnesota displaced homemakers really do start over with the family stabilization services offered through Life-Work Planning Center.
The program continues to have strong bipartisan support for the pre-employment services we are providing. Legislators asked a lot of engaging questions and expressed a real commitment to ensuring that these essential services continue to be available.
Life-Work Planning Center staff recognizes Rep. Bob Gunther for co-authoring legislation to provide additional funding to the Minnesota Displaced Homemaker Program.
Life-Work Planning Center staff recognizes Senator Rich Draheim for his service on the for his service on the Jobs and Economic Development Committee which allocated additional funding to the Minnesota Displaced Homemaker Program for the current biennium.
