LWPC Listed in Giving for Good Catalog
Great news, the Mankato Area Foundation just opened their Giving for Good Catalog and is accepting donations for your favorite nonprofits until August 8. Life-Work Planning Center is delighted and grateful to be included in the catalog among 50+ organizations in our area!
As you may know, Life-Work Planning Center is a pre-employment program for women, providing family stabilization services through trauma informed care. LWPC helps families to stabilize after a major life transition such as abandonment, divorce, job loss, or death/disability of spouse or partner. 73% of program participants are survivors of intimate partner violence and 23% enter the program unhoused. Without a self-sustaining wage, women must often remain in unsafe situations.
LWPC is seeking general operating funds to provide our quarterly Strength*Balance*Self-Respect workshops and Job Search series to participants in the Mankato Area. Our person-centered programming is offered at no cost to participants all of whom are at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Guideline. Each individual works with a self-sufficiency counselor to develop a unique action plan, learn essential transferable skills and create job search strategies tailored to her unique experience, strengths, interests and aptitude.
Thank you for supporting our passionate mission to increase the self-sufficiency of women and their families.
