I began my professional career in cosmetology, helping individuals feel more confident in their appearance. Through meaningful conversations and connections with clients, I discovered a deeper passion for understanding and supporting people beyond the surface. This realization led me to pursue a bachelor’s degree in psychology, where I particularly enjoyed my coursework in women’s studies.

Following my undergraduate studies, I began a graduate program in Mental Health Counseling at Minnesota State University, Mankato. Toward the end of my program, I experienced an unexpected medical emergency that resulted in a stroke and partial disability in my left hand. My recovery process taught me valuable lessons about resilience, adaptability, personal growth and gratitude.

I believe that all experiences in life, both challenging and uplifting, contribute to our strength and capacity for growth. I am honored to be serving as your new Self-sufficiency Counselor at Life-Work Planning Center and look forward to empowering and supporting you all as you navigate your own paths forward.
